About Dr. John B. Grant

Our Younger Visitors

Children are special patients and we take special care with them. We like to build trust.

Preparing your child

Proper preparation begins early in a child's life. Your child's introduction to the dentist can be accomplished either by having him observe a family member having a simple cleaning and exam, or by reading books to him about the experience. One suggestion is “The Berenstain Bears Visit the Dentist” by Stan and Jan Berenstain (Random House, 1981).

Then try playing dentist with the toddler. Switch roles and let him “count” your teeth and, if necessary, lay the child in your lap to see his teeth better.

Both of our children now see Dr. Grant, he is wonderful with them. They do not fear coming to the dentist.
